What we are asking for?
Our goal is to get 200 people to sign up for a commitment of at least $20 a month.
With the success of our projects, the strength of our development philosophy, and the overall potential of our organization, we need to increase the amount of funding we receive in order to meet the financial demands of our projects. A small amount of money each month from a large number of people really adds up. Help us make this happen, and begin giving today.
Why recurring (weekly, monthly, quarterly) donations are more effective than sporadic, one-time donations?
By being able to count on a consistent amount of funds to work with we avoid running the risk of making promises we cannot fulfill. We are able to make real commitments to serious programming. A strong, reliable flow of funds will help us reach our full potential more effectively, and complete both our immediate and long-term goals more quickly.
The impact of your donation
You may be asking yourself, what are some ways I can come up with an extra $20 per month?
Well, think about a few of these examples:
- Instead of buying four lattes at Starbucks, you could make coffee at home.
- Order two or three less drinks when out at the bar, or even one less bottle of wine for dinner.
- Rent a movie at home rather than spending $10 per ticket at the theater.
- Opt to walk or take the subway next time you go out, and avoid paying for a taxi.
- Pass up a monthly impulse buy on Amazon.
After all, if you help us reach our campaign goal and we get 200 people to give just $20 a month, it’ll mean $48,000 of reliable funding annually.
If you can’t afford $20 per month, signing up for $5, $10, or $15/month is helpful too.
How To Set Up Your Monthly Donation
You can join our Monthly Donation Campaign in one of two ways:
1. Click on the link “Donate”, located in the upper-right hand corner of our website. From there, select $20 as your desired donation amount, and then click that you want to make a recurring donation on a monthly basis. Then fill in your address and billing information, create a username and password, and submit. Your donation will be made automatically each month without having to resubmit this information. Your donation will be processed on the same day each month, and a receipt will be sent to you each time. 2. It is also possible for you to setup automatic recurring payments from your checking or savings account via your bank. Your bank will be responsible for sending Roots a check each month. If you prefer this option, contact your bank directly or write to us at info@rootsofdevelopment.org, and we will help you set it up.
