Roots of Development is excited to announce its second annual Designs for Development competition, open to anyone with an eye for design. Last year, we asked designers, artists, and illustrators to come up with designs that reflected the Haitian culture and history, as well as the mission and philosophy of Roots of Development. The winning designs were printed on reusable tote bags and are currently available for purchase on our website. Last year’s top designers were given $1,000 for their winning entry with a $500 prize for the runner-up.
This year, the submitted designs will be screen-printed on t-shirts, featured on a runway show at the Roots of Development annual gala, and sold online at the Roots website.
Once again, the winning design comes with a $1,000 prize and $500 for the runner-up. An additional $1,000 prize is also up for grabs in the “Pep La” Award competition. Top designs from the primary competition are entered into the “Pep La” Award, where the public votes for the winners right up until the day of the gala November 12, 2012.
All design entries must be submitted by 11:59pm on September 30th!
