Thank you to everyone who came out and took part in the CT Ride & Walk event this past weekend! Whether you joined as a volunteer, sponsor, bicyclist, or walker, you have all helped to raise money and awareness for the GFDAG women’s group in Gran Sous, Haiti. We are pleased to share that, with your help, we surpassed our goal of $15,000, raising over $20,000 from this event! This marks the second and final investment into this community business, which will support expansion to a larger facility with better security and solar powered electricity, giving this store the ability keep up with growing local demand. As their business grows, these women will be able to begin tackling a number of goals they have set for themselves and their community, including using their profits to keep vulnerable and orphaned children in school. The future looks bright for this accomplished group of women and their thriving community business! We hope to see you all at next year’s event and truly thank you for your continued support in Roots of Development.
