Whole Foods Helps Roots Empower Communities in Haiti

Whole Foods Market has partnered with Roots of Development to create and sell an Empower Haiti reusable shopping bag. At $2.99 a bag, and 100% of the proceeds now going to Roots of Development, this initiative means a great deal of support for our current projects. Bags were first seen in stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic about a year ago. The last and final push began a week ago with 42 stores across the region offering them until they sell out (“while supplies last”). We encourage you to pick up a bag or two if you live around one of those 42 locations listed below. They are great to shop with, great for carrying food items to a friend or neighbor’s house, or great for giving a thoughtful gift to someone you love.

If your local Whole Foods does not carry our Empower Haiti bag, you can purchase one at Roots’ online store. Our online special is offering five bags for $15 dollars (meaning, free shipping). Spread the word! Invite friends and family to purchase a few bags for the season…for Halloween candy, groceries, leftover Thanksgiving food to bring home, or even for gifting food donations to local churches or soup kitchens.
